“Iftar” is the fast-breaking, which in Delhi typically includes dates, fruit, tasty snacks, plenty of water and juices, followed by a hot dinner. We provide boxed snacks that are eaten immediately at sunset, followed by hot biryani (rice with meat). “Suhur” is the meal taken two hours before sunrise to begin the fast. Our nutritious boxed suhur does not require refrigeration or heating as a majority of recipients are homeless.
In 2021, a generous donor funded one tonne of dates for iftar snack boxes for the entire month of Ramadan.
