UPDATE 1 of 2: ROHINGYA REFUGEE EMERGENCY FOOD AID DELIVERY, APRIL 2018

Alhamdulillah, with Allah’s support, twenty volunteers, and generous contributions, on Friday April 13th in sweltering summer heat we delivered seven tons of emergency food aid to Rohingya refugees at the Kutupalong Refugee Camp at Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. We coordinated our arrival, staging, and distribution with army officials. To travel 250 miles on bad roads with fully loaded trucks took fifteen hours. Our eager volunteers came from across the country.

The massive volume of refugees flowing into the camp has now reached 750,000. We were shocked when some refugees told us that despite the army’s best efforts, they had not received food supplies for twelve days. As with our previous delivery, refugees immediately helped, both in unloading our supply trucks and carrying food to others. Once again, it was a very humbling experience to see people with so little and yet happy and thanking their Lord. May Allah Almighty bless everyone who supported this huge effort or wanted to support it but were financially unable. May we all receive a share of the reward. Ameen.
